The FITUR exhibition (International Tourism exhibition) celebrates its 35th edition this year and opens its doors on Wednesday 28th January until Sunday 1st February.
It is more than evident that this event is one of the most important international tourism fairs on the calendar, attracting over 7,000 journalists and media specialists from all over the world.

Last Tuesday 28th January, Primavera Sound festival unveiled it’s full line-up adding 120 new bands to the 3 previous confirmed artists (Pixies, Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel).
Some of the most important new acts announced this Tuesday are Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, The National, Metronomy, Mogwai, Kendrick Lamar, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Superchunk, Black Lips, Foals, Television, Spoon, Cut Copy and Slowdive among others.
Primavera Sound also confirmed the distribution of all the concerts by days so Arcade Fire and Queens of the Stone Age will be the headliners of Thursday night, Pixies and The National on Friday night and finally Nine Inch Nails and Kendrick Lamar will be the ones closing the festival on Saturday night.
The line-up was unveiled through a short film screened on Tuesday night in some Barcelona cinemas and online. The film was shot in Detroit and starts in the legendary Found Shop record shop revealing lineup artists with little tips, posters, t-shirts and vinyl covers. FIB 2013 engines are now running and ready to rock! Today starts one of the most important rock music festivals in Europe that will run through the whole weekend in the summery town of Benicàssim (Castellón). The highlights for this year’s edition are totally rock-oriented: The Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers, Primal Scream, Beady Eye, Kaiser Chiefs and Miles Kane among others.
This year’s edition has been quite polemic by the constant rumours of cancellation. Finally, last week, the festival organization released a statement quashing the cancellation rumours. But the truth is that Maraworld, managed by Vince Power, has been hitting financial problems. Vince Power has been forced to sell part of Maraworld to Dennis Desmond and SJM Concerts. In his own words: “The difficult economic climate, coupled with the bad year suffered by Music Festivals PLC has motivated my decision to sell a significant stake Benicàssim Festival.”

Sónar Festival 2013 opens today it’s twentieth edition. Over the next four days Barcelona will become the electronic music world capital with DJs and bands such as Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, Skrillex, Paul Kalkbrenner, Laurent Garnier and many more.
Over the past 20 years, the Sónar Festival has grown into a must for all lovers of electronic music in the world. During the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th June, Sónar Festival will host classical artists such as Pet Shop Boys and Kraftwerk, and new generation DJs like Skrillex or Justice. The festival will take place in several spots in Barcelona. The main venues will be the “Sónar by Day” to be held at the Fira de Montjuïc and the “Sónar by night” that will take place in the Fira Gran Vía in L’Hospitalet. There will be also other events in different parts of the city such as CCCB, MACBA, CosmoCaixa and National Art Museum of Catalonia.
